Congratulations to this
year's Weinstein Memorial Award winner Cindy Christensen and Anne
Bouchard. Each year, this award is presented to
individuals who exemplify commitment and dedication to Glenbard South
as demonstrated by Jerry Weinstein, the first Booster president. Thank
Cindy and Anne for all you did for Glenbard South and the Boosters!
During the Glenbard South football game on Oct. 21, Glenbard South Principal Sandra Coughlin and Andrea Leppert, secretary of the Glenbard South Booster Organization, presented the Weinstein Memorial Award to Cindy Christensen and Anne Bouchard.
Cindy Christensen's three daughters graduated from Glenbard South. Christensen joined Bouchard's parent group to start Insomnia, a new format for a fun, affordable post-prom event. Under their leadership, the Post Prom Committee established a dedicated fund-raising event so that after a five-year hiatus, post prom could return to Booster oversight in 2016 without any financial burden. Christensen was:
• A member of the Citizens' Advisory Committee from 2007 to
2013, vice chair from
• CAC Healthy Breakfast volunteer coordinator from 2009 to 2013
• Member of district-wide ACTS Committee from 2008 to 2013 Christensen is in her sixth year as a community member on the Glenbard District 87 Board of Education Policy Committee.
Bouchard, who has two children, joined the Boosters in 2004 and has served on several Booster committees, including athletic programs, Booster BBQ, Crosstown Classic, and Floral Symphony. Bouchard and her husband also hosted the Fall Parent Social a couple of times. Bouchard served as the Booster secretary from 2007-2009, and as Booster president from 2009-2011. In 2011, Bouchard and Christensen served as co-chairs of the new post-prom event. In 2004-05 Bouchard served on a district-wide steering committee dedicated to educating the public about the Glenbard District 87 referendum. Bouchard also served on:
• ACTS Committee (Advocating Character Through Service) from
• GIVS Committee (Glenbard Instructional Volunteer Senior-Leaders) from 2007-2012.
Bouchard continues to volunteer, driving numerous speakers with the Glenbard Parent Series (GPS).
